Cecile was born in a small town near Paris, she started playing music when she was 15, but only started releasing records in 2003. Since then she has released 3 albums and toured all over the world falling in love with Japanese culture and aesthetics. She is now planning to work on the fourth album, but in the meantime she commits herself on enjoying life, cooking and visual arts.

Do you like the description of “sound sculptress” about your activity? How would you describe your music to someone that doesn’t know you?
I think that the expression “sound sculptress” misses the point of music being actually “music” and not just sound, a word which feels a bit too scientific to me.
My music is about melody, song construction and the personality of the instruments used. All of them are acoustic, some of them from baroque times, like viola da gamba and harpsichord, others seen mostly in classical and jazz, some even ignored as instruments, such as music boxes, so they produce a music that’s related to both ancient and modern forms of music.
